Canon eos 500d

I’ve been wanting to buy a camera for ages so I can get some better photos for Ibiza Maps but I also wanted to be able to shoot videos. I found the Canon eso 500D while searching around other day and quickly did some creative accounting to buy it.

I also took some test video which I’m really happy with. You can shoot 30 frames per second at 1080 x 720 which is excellent for an DSLR. I’ll post the results later. This was taken at Cala Figuera Borda just south of Cala Conteta

New Ibiza Maps layout

I decided that that map view on the detail pages on Ibiza Maps was too small and didn’t really help the user to fully orient themselves with what was around each point on the map. I’ve made the map larger now and included the other markers so when viewing a beach for example you can see the hotels, bars, restaurants within 2 Kms of that location on the map.

After years of procrastination I’ve finally got something together for www.ibizamaps.net and am busy adding data all the time to the site. Rather than just being another site about Ibiza, it links hotels, beaches, restaurants and businesses together by their proximity so you can see what’s around you when booking a hotel for example.

I launched it on the 1st of December 2008 and traffic response so far has been very good - visits have tripled since this time last year

Well Hillary hasn’t come out and said it yet but Obama has won the domination for the dems. John Mccain thought it would be a show of strength to get up on stage on the night this was made official, make his own speech and really put Obama in his place. Wow, he left me speechless.

Bush’s War - Insight to the Iraq War on Terror

I watched the PBS documentary “Bush’s War” about the events and decisions made in aftermath of September 11, 2001 by the US government. I’m not an expert on this subject but found this a great place to start when trying to understand the world’s “super power” and “why” it did what it did…

Hillary Sniper Fire Bosnia…

Oh dear, Hillary is already loosing her memory. She tells us that back in ‘96 she was sent to Bosnia. Apparently is was too dangerous for Bill to go, so with her daughter, she went. On arrival at an airport her plane had to make evasive maneuvers to avoid gunfire and they were then told they should run straight to the awaiting cars with their heads down.
